Two US Firms to suspend earthquake zone injection wells

Photo_00005

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS March 4, 2011, 6:38PM ETtext size: TT

2 firms to suspend earthquake zone injection wells

Two natural gas companies agreed Friday to temporarily cease operations of injection wells in an area of central Arkansas that has seen more than 800 earthquakes during the past six months.

Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake Energy and Clarita Operating of Little Rock said they would comply with the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission's emergency request to stop all injection activities in Greenbrier- and Guy-area wells used to dispose of wastewater from production. The panel's next regular meeting is March 29.

Geologists are studying a swarm of recent area quakes, most tiny, in an attempt to determine whether there is a connection between the seismic activity and gas-drilling companies' work in the Fayetteville Shale formation. A 4.7-magnitude earthquake, the most powerful reported in the state in 35 years, struck near Greenbrier on Sunday night.

A six-month moratorium on new injection wells in the area took effect in January to allow time to determine what relationship, if any, there is between the wells and the earthquakes.

Shane Khoury, deputy director and general counsel for the commission, said Arkansas Geological Survey researchers had found enough evidence to request an immediate shutdown of the two well locations. He added that the emergency order would not affect the five other injection wells currently operating in that region.

"We believe preliminary data from the moratorium study shows a potential connection between injection operations and earthquakes at one or both of those wells," he said.

The Fayetteville Shale, an organically-rich rock formation underlying the region, is a major source of natural gas in Arkansas. Drillers free up the gas by using hydraulic fracturing, or "fracking," which requires injecting pressurized water to create fractures deep in the ground. The two injection wells at issue dispose of waste "frack" water when it can no longer be re-used, by injecting it into the ground.

Khoury said there has been no evidence to indicate a connection between the earthquakes and production operations, only injection or disposal methods.

Neither company testified at the hearing or offered evidence on its behalf, but will have the opportunity to do so at the next hearing.

Danny Games Sr., director of corporate development for Chesapeake Energy, said the company complied with the emergency request because it needed more time to review the information.

"This is obviously a very involved and very complicated matter," Games said. "There's a lot of science and a lot of facts that should come to bear, and in light of the very short time frame that we had to work with, we simply did not have time to prepare in the manner we felt was proper for this discussion."

Games said, however, that he does not agree with the commission's conclusions and that the earthquakes are a natural occurrence.

"We believe there is a lot of natural seismicity in this area," he said. "This is an area where there's been seismic activity for over 30 years, and we think this is a continuation of that."

Brian Hughes, general manager of Clarita Operating, declined comment. Clarita's parent company is True Energy Services of Ada, Okla.

Pete’s Blog .. on Petty DHO NSW

DOH Makes over $15M just in water charges alone, and i cant get a $65.00 mesh screen

if this is what they say "

Our purpose

Our work is driven by our purpose, which is to:

help build a stronger community by providing

housing solutions for people in need.

In working towards this purpose, Housing NSW:

works with other departments, agencies and other organisations

to address homelessness in NSW

manages NSW’s public housing portfolio

funds and regulates the provision of community housing and

crisis accommodation

manages Aboriginal public housing for the Aboriginal Housing Office

plays a key role in developing policy and supporting relationships to

increase access to the supply of affordable housing across NSW

provides a range of products and services to assist people into the

private rental market and home ownership and

provides policy advice to government and manages the Housing

Act

2001 and associated legislation.

Our values

Our core values set out the behaviours that we will demonstrate in

working towards our purpose.

We make a difference.

We help.

We work together.

We are part of the community."    YEAH RIGHT OBVIOUSLEY

then where are all the Rainwater collection tanks,  that was agreed  back in 2002 that it was a good idea? why are lights left on during the day, so much for our carbon footpring (thats a laugh)

What about maintenance and security? the "Five islands Court" complex was a state of the art building when 1st built we had

proper security like

but what happenned to the maintenance of our electronic locks????

obviousley the DOH dont have to upgrade their premises as i was told by Carol Raschilla

or by the looks of it maintain anything , See my screen door,   the lock that worked when the building was made,   but left to

denigrate over time,   they make over $15 million in water charges alone and i cant get a $65.00 mesh screen

just like a corporation,   people are just numbers, aparently it doesnt count re 2 male deaths in our area, must suit their eugenic plans,

part of their social audit.. when is the DOH going to be audited? They cry poor to the public,  whilst they threated people with homelessness because

they dont cut their grass to maintain their properties. Are tennants reimbursed for the monies they spend on maintenance such as lawn moving, aparrentl;y not  and they are slow in fixing damaged scfreens , obviousley to either save money or to just ignore

maintenance and repairs to keep their bottom line looking healthy.  Im goint to continue my protest by not paying for my water chares until  the DISCRIMINATION  against me  STOPS/

ITCCS Bulletin No. 1 – January 3, 2011

The International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State
Established June 15, 2010

  Background and Rationale

The abuse, trafficking, torture and murder of children appears endemic to European culture, and continues to be actively practiced, and condoned and protected, by church, state, judicial and police forces around the globe.

These same institutions are equally responsible for the historic genocide of indigenous peoples at the hands of European Christendom: an enormous crime against humanity which has never stopped, and continues to ravage and destroy the innocent and the earth.

Because these crimes have emerged from within the heart and laws of so-called western civilization, they have not faced judgment or accountability. We believe it is time for both.

Two of the main practitioners of this genocide of the innocent – the Vatican and the Crown of England – are effectively immune from prosecution under existing laws and customs. It is therefore incumbent upon all citizens to take action to safeguard their children in the face of the refusal of courts and governments to bring to justice those who threaten public safety and wellbeing.

On this basis, our Tribunal has been established to enforce common law and try and convict the institutions and their officers responsible for such historic and ongoing crimes against humanity. We therefore constitute a de jure Court under common law, with full power of arrest, conviction and enforcement.

We have issued a Public Summons to Joseph Ratzinger (aka “Pope Benedict”) and six senior cardinals in the Roman Catholic Church, inc. to appear before our opening session on September 12, 2011 in London. A similar Summons will be delivered to other church and state officials in the coming months.

Common Law peace officers working for our de jure Court and Tribunal will  apprehend these persons and bring them to trial, and will enforce the verdicts of our Court, if regular peace officers refuse to do so.

Our Court and its officers will follow the normal Common Law rules of due process in all of its deliberations and decisions, guided by natural law principles of equity, reason and justice, and the maxim Actus nemini facit injuriam: The act of the law does no one wrong.

In addition, our Court will recognize and allow in its proceedings the Land Law tribal jurisdiction of any indigenous nations or persons who bring suit against those parties summoned to our Court.

It is understood by our Court that its decisions, based as they are on Natural and Common Law, supersede and invalidate all statutes and statutory laws which conflict with the decisions of the Court, particularly when those statues uphold crimes or their concealment, or the protection of the guilty. Similarly, our Court does not recognize the jurisdiction or authority of any contending legal systems, such as the so-called “Canon Law”, or any form of personal, diplomatic or legal immunity governing any person or institution, including heads of states, churches and corporations.

As a de jure Court and a popular forum to address grievances, crimes and consequences, our Tribunal is by definition a public process that can only fulfill its mandate with wide participation, especially from survivors of church and state crimes.

Accordingly, in other countries and communities, the Tribunal will seek to hold public forums to coincide with its London sessions, and which will be linked by simultaneous telecast, to allow people to present their affidavits and testimonies which will become part of the official Court transcript and Tribunal record.

The final verdicts and findings of the Court and Tribunal will be made public in the form of a final public Report whose decisions will be enforced by the Common law Peace Officers and their agents, if regular peace officers refuse to do so. These decisions can and will include the imprisonment and community sentencing of the guilty, the issuing of commercial Liens and Orders of Expropriation against church, corporate and state institutions and their property and assets, orders of Reparation and Compensation, and the return of all land, property, unpaid taxes, and revenue obtained through forced labor.

Our Court and tribunal derive their ultimate authority from the self-evident Natural Law which resides within the reason and compassion of every man and woman, and from the Common Law right of the informed citizenry to establish their own Courts, Policing and Laws when normal institutions fail or refuse to uphold the liberty, rights, safety and wellbeing of the community.

Issued by the Legal Advisory Committee of the International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State – January 3, 2011
